Time to put all that salt in your kitchen cabinets to good use. IndustryGamers was reportedly told by “industry source (at a top developer) who wished not to be quoted” that Sony is readying a PlayStation 4 announcement for “sometime next year.”
Last week, a Eurogamer report claimed a “high-ranking industry source” told the site Microsoft would reveal the next Xbox at E3 2012.
Today’s report suggests Sony could ‘feel the pressure’ to be in tune with their rival, unlike the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 launches, which were a year apart.
Words from the mouth of Sony Computer Entertainment America president and CEO Jack Tretton contradict today’s report. During an interview last week, Tretton said he “wouldn’t look for any discussion of a next generation PlayStation for quite some time,” reiterating that “PlayStation 3 is really just hitting its stride.”
