Description
Symphonic Rain takes place in a fictional city of apparently Italian heritage, where rain falls everyday. The locals there have adapted to this peculiar phenomenon, and carry on with their lives as if the rain was never there. No one takes an umbrella, no one wears a rain coat.
The main character of the story is 17 year old Chris, a Fortelle student of the famous Piova Communal School of Music (Scuola Comunale di Musica Piova, in Italian). Separated from his childhood sweetheart Arietta when he left his home town for the city, he keeps in touch with her through the means of weekly letters. Penning their thoughts on those letters, Chris treasures and keeps her weekly writings, for he had promised her that should his drawer becomes totally filled with them, he would return to her.
The game starts during Chris's third year as a student, a few months before he has to take the school's final graduation examination: a staged performance. As an instrumentalist, he is required to search for a vocalist partner before he is eligible for the examination.
Character :
Chris Velding - The main male character of the game. Chris is a third year student in the Piova music school, the instrument he plays is called Fortelle. Living in a small apartment near the school, the only friends Chris has after three years of studying is Tortinita and Asino.
Tortinita Fine (voice actress: Mai Nakahara) - The main female character of the game, a third year vocalist student of Piova music school. Tortinita (Chris calls her Toruta) is the younger sister Arietta and goes to the same music school as Chris. She, her sister and Chris have been friends since their childhood. Tortinita is good at singing, but very bad at cooking.
Arietta Fine (voice actress: Mai Nakahara) - Chris’ girlfriend, the elder twin of Tortinita. She is now living in Chris/Tortinita’s hometown, which is far away from where Piova is. Arietta and Chris write letters to each other every week and this is also their only form of communication. Arietta is good at cooking but very bad at singing, which is exactly opposite to Tortinita.
Falsita Fawcett (voice actress: Masumi Asano) - A third year vocalist student. Gentle, smart, friendly, caring, Falsita (Fal for short) is liked by everybody. Everyone in the school knows her as she was the former president of the student council. Although Falsita seems to excel at everything from singing, schoolwork to cooking, she is not very happy with her own handwriting.
Liselsia Cesarini (voice actress: Fumiko Orikasa) - A very quiet year 1 student of Pivoa music school. She often likes to stay away from the crowd and sings by herself in a quiet room far away from the main buildings of the school. Chris usually calls her Lise.
Phorni (voice actress: Hiroko Kasahara) - A musical fairy who stays inside Chris’ apartment. Her height is only 14cm, but despite her size, her voice can be as loud as an average adult. Phorni has the voice of an angel when she sings but only Chris can hear her voice. She also can’t be seen by anyone other than Chris.
Asino (voice actor: Hayato Watanabe) - The only male friend that Chris has at school. While everyone else just stays away from Chris, Asino is the only one that shows support and care for him.
Cordell (voice actress: Yu Asakawa) - A teacher at Piova music school, she is also a personal lecturer for Chris and Asino. Cordell is very strict but also has a gentle, caring side. At school she is among one of the highest rated teachers and many students like her.
Ninna (voice actress: Michiru Wada) - The grandmother of Arietta and Tortinita. She moved to Piova when she grew old as she loved music. She is currently living together with Tortinita.
Grave (voice actor: Kouichi Nagano) - A famous musician in Piova who belongs to a noble family. He is a lecturer at the Piova school who only teaches at a special lecture for the third year Fortelle students. Grave is an extremely demanding man and doesn’t tolerate a single mistake his students make.

but from a review which I read, many people say that the Music in this VN is good...
